JC Moving Company
I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to others.
“I'm extremely happy with Jersey City Movers. My family had to unexpectedly move out of our apartment because of an unsafe condition and the staff at JC Movers was very understanding and accommodating about working with us on short notice and certain contingencies that were arising. Suddenly, when our move out date almost had to change, they were extremely responsive and more than fair in working with us. On the day of the move, we quickly realized that we had significantly more stuff than we had indicated on the moving list because of our hurried packing. The movers worked with us very professionally about updating our quote, and took great care with all of our belongings. Because we had underestimated our stuff, they really had to pack their truck tightly. My wife's bicycle didn't fit in the moving truck and one of the movers rode it to our new location! I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to others.” -

Universal Van Lines
Canceled on us last minute
“We hired Universal Van Lines to help with our move on 8/27, they said they would be there between 3-5pm. On the day of the move, they informed us around noon that they were running behind and would not be able to make it until closer to 5, ok, no problem. At 4:30, they called and told us they were running later, and would not be coming at all and the soonest they could rebook us would be on Sunday. We were closing on our home THE NEXT DAY and had to be out by morning. We asked, begged, and pleaded that they help us in some way but offed ZERO options other than a Too Bad and We can book you on Sunday. They wouldn't come later, and they wouldn't come the next morning. A moving company should understand that rebooking a move 3 days later is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Not only would they screw us over, but mess up everyone else who has scheduled around THIS move.. Us, other buyers, other sellers, lawyers, and family and friends who planned for all of this to happen on the day agreed on. Yay, they gave me back my $100 deposit...how nice of them... how about the extra $3000 I had to pay to book another moving company last minute (literally), for the next day. I am very disappointed in Universal Van Lines, they way they handled the situation, and their lack of compassion and willingness to help a customer in which they screwed over. I have tried to get a hold of the owner of the company to discuss this matter, but no one on the staff will help me in this way either. Unbelievable. Not to mention going through all of this with a 3 day old baby. Stay FAR FAR away.” -

“Casella & Sons Moving Service in Verona is the best moving company Ive ever used! I want to thank you guys for doing such a great job with my recent move! You were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Ive used other moving companies in the past and they were not nearly as personable or gentle with my belongings. Ive had bad experiences using other companies in the past, including rudeness and damage done to my furniture, which made the whole process that much more difficult. Not only were you guys careful but you were extremely courteous to me, my family, my neighbors and my new landlord. To top it off, your rate was very fair and reasonable. Moving is never fun but your crew made it as painless a process as possible. I will absolutely recommend you to my friends and family! Thanks again!”
